In May 2013, he joined SuccessFactors, an SAP company, from Gartner, where he was a Research Vice President covering human capital management (HCM) technology. He was also Gartner's lead analyst on SAP from 2009 to 2011. He has a strong background in HCM trends and technologies, including core HR, payroll, talent management and workforce analytics. He also has a deep interest in shared services and business process outsourcing, and how technologies such as social software, mobile, analytics, AI and cloud computing can improve HR and overall organizational performance. He also has experience European HCM compliance issues, such as data protection law.
Prior to joining Gartner, Thomas worked at SAP in a variety of roles, including business development, sales and key account strategy. He has extensive experience in global HR technology deployments, especially with larger multinational organizations.
He grew up in South Africa, has worked in the US and the UK, but now lives in Heidelberg, Germany. He holds a LLM in Computer Law, A PDM in HR Management and a BA(hons) in Political Science.
He is currently working on a PhD examining the relationship between Enterprise software and Law, rather slowly, at the ZAR at KIT.
