In the chemical industry, widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to transform operations and bring significant benefits regarding productivity and growth. The human-centered systems lab kicked-off a new research project in cooperation with BASF SE in this context. In the project a human-centered design process is followed to deliver large language model (LLM)-based bots for BASF employees. Specifically, we will focus on investigating new concepts for the user interaction with bots that connects to different structured and unstructured data sources to provide answers to questions from BASF employees.
